Michel Collon, a Belgian journalist and author, in his book "Israel, let's talk about it," has slammed European media over decades of "lying" to people in order to support Israel.
Collon, in his book, has recounted "10 big lies" spread by Western media in order to "justify the existence and actions of Israel", which are concisely presented below:
1. The first lie is that Israel was established in reaction to the massacre of Jews during the World War II.
This notion is completely wrong. Israel is in fact a domineering project which was approved in the First Zionist Congress in Basel, Switzerland, in 1897, when nationalist Jews decided to occupy Palestine.
2. The second justification for establishing and legitimizing Israel is that the Jews are returning to their forefathers' land, from where they had been driven away in 70 A.D. This is a tale. I have spoken to the famous Israeli historian Shlomo Sand and other historians and they all believe that there has been no "exodus," so "return" is meaningless. The people leaving in Palestine have not left their land in the ancient era.
In fact the descendents of Jews residing in Palestine are the people who are currently living in Palestine. Those who claim they want to return to their lands originate for Western and Eastern Europe and Northern Africa.
Sand says there is no Jewish nation. The Jews do not have common history, language or culture. The only common thing between them is their religion, and religion does not make a nation.
3. The third lie is that when Jewish immigrants occupied Palestine, it was an empty and uninhibited country.
However, there are documents and evidences that prove that in the 19th century the agricultural products of Palestine were exported to different countries, including France.
4. Fourth, some people say Palestinians left their country on their own free will.
This is another lie, which lots of people believed, including myself. Until Israeli historians like Benny Morris and Ilan Pappe said that Palestinians were driven away and banished from their lands by using force and terror.
5. It is said that today Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East and it should be protected; it is the "government of law."
But in my opinion not only it is not the government of law; it is the only regime that no law defines its territory and boundaries. All the countries of the world have a constitution which defines their boundaries, but no such thing applies to Israel. Israel is an expansionist project which knows no boundary, and its law is completely racist; according to this law Israel is the country for Jews, and its non-Jew citizens are not considered human. Such law is a contradiction to democracy.
6. It is said that the US tries to protect democracy in the Middle East by protecting Israel. And we know that the US annual financial aid to Israel amounts to 3 billion dollars. This money is used for bombarding Israel's neighbor countries.
But America is not after establishing democracy in the Middle East; it wants the undisturbed flow of oil.
7. They pretend that the US seeks an agreement between Israel and Palestine.
This is also completely wrong and a lie. EU former Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana told the Israel that "you are the 21st country of the European Union." The European weapons industries cooperate with the Israeli military industries and support them financially. But when Palestinians elected their government, Europe did not recognize it and gave the green light to Israel to attack the Gaza Strip.
8. When one talks about these facts and the history of Israel and Palestine, when one reveals the US interests in this situation, they call you anti-Semite to keep you silent.
But we should say that when we criticize Israel, it is not racism or anti-Semitism. We criticize a government that does not believe in the equality of Jews, Christians and Muslims, and so destroys the peace between followers of different religions.
9. The mass media say that Palestinians cause violence and terrorism. We say Israel army's occupation is violence, the policy that has stolen land and home from Palestinians is violence.
10. An issue which is often raised is that there is no way for resolving this situation, and there is no solution for the hatred and the grudge caused by Israel and its accomplices.
But there is a solution. The only thing that can stop this process is the public pressure on the accomplices of Israel in the US and Europe and other parts of the world; public pressure on the mass media which refrain from telling the truth about Israel; and using the Internet or any other media out let to publish real news about Palestine.
John Kerr appears to be one of the better radio announcers of Sydney. One night, in his 2UE Midnight to Dawn Program he allowed someone to say a few good words about Muslims. Shortly thereafter he disappeared from the radio and later came back at a much smaller weekend show only. One can assume that he may have been punished by some one for some reason. Possibly for allowing someone to say something good about Muslims as it is unusual in this town!
Faruque Ahmed has been fighting for truthful and accurate reporting. During the process he made a few powerful enemies and lots of good friends. Legend says, some radio stations have installed “Faruque Meter” and they do not pick up his phone calls and they also do not provide him air time too. Nonetheless, his long association with talk back radio are appreciated by the community in general and loathed by the influential Israetards, Israeo-Nazis and Zio-Nazis!
Last week the producer of John Kerr failed to call back Faruque Ahmed without any valid reason. Last night (Sunday Morning, May 09, 2010), both Faruque Ahmed and the producer of John Kerr had a nice chuckle about a few issues after midnight. The producer also promised Faruque to call back about the carefully crafted and nurtured anxiety and paranoia over the ‘burqa’ issue. During the program a few people made a few untrue and devious claims about Muslims and burqa to incite against Muslims. Some of those claims were accidentally exposed during the show too. One pro-Muslim contributor also got the unusual axe during the conversation! Nonetheless, no one called Faruque!! It happened, even a couple of time during the shift the programmed died down due to lack of contributors.
Suspicious Faruque rang back after 4.00 AM and made some inquiries. The well spoken producer was defensive and friendly with Faruque. However, Faruque smashed the defense line by saying, “only a few minutes ago a female caller made very unusual claim against Islam and Muslims deliberately to cause injury to Muslims” (paraphrasing). The producer was moved a bit and he promised him to give air time next week. During that conversation Faruque also reasoned with the producer that it is fairly clear that someone is censoring against Faruque!
Last time (from my memory) Mike made a few allegations against me. When I asked him to substantiate those allegations, he failed miserably in his own show! Since then he is not giving me any opportunity to talk to his show.
Surely nothing is stopping Mike to use valid information of Rev Bill Crews and Burqaor provide us a right of reply before embarking on a mission against Muslims! He is also welcome to place his response in those links should he wish to do so.
Rev Bill Crews comes across as a tolerant preacher and broadcaster. I have had a few nice conversations with him over the years. I also felt, many “Christians” do not like his style too.
Today, he was trying to start a conversion about Burqa and I rang his radio program after 8.00 PM without any success. However, when I used a different phone, I got through easily and I spoke to his producer. He told me, the board is full and he won’t be able to call me back! I hope it is not a blockade.

I made attempts in Burkah, Fear and Paranoia Based on Prejudice and Bigotry, Belgian Prejudice and Bigotryand other forums to say that ignorance, prejudice and bigotry has overtaken the burqa debate and the real people are not getting an opportunity to say anything about this issue or any other issues for that matter as evidenced by my experience. To the best of my knowledge, many decent Muslims have made attempts to communicate with the wider world without a good success and many of them virtually gave up unlike me.
I have been trying to communicate but brick walls and bulldozers are trying to decimate me!
I don’t care whether some one wears a burkah or not. But I do care if some one is forced to wear a burkah I also care if burkah is used to commit any crime. To the best of my knowledge I have not seen any statistics in this regard. However, I have heard can be, could be, may be, might be, … types of supposition, and possibility billions of time. These types of irrational and illogical fear and paranoia based on prejudice and bigotry are prevalent in our society.
The former Prime Minister of Australia John Howard managed to win two un-winnable elections by using fear and paranoia based on prejudice and bigotry. His last bastion was the Northern Territory Intervention at the expense of Aboriginal people. Yet, after all of this vicious and creative propaganda:
1. Not one person was prosecuted for sexual abuse.
2. Not one hospital was built.
3. Not one school was built.
In this occasion, half Israeli Nicolas Sarkozy got many personal and political failures. In order to divert attention from his own shortcomings he has abused and misused the burkah issue. Yet, it is not an issue in the French media. However, burkah is the headline news in some countries including Australia due to the never ending vendetta of some ill-motivated tabloid media and other instrumentalities.
By the way, no one is telling non-Muslims how to dress, eat or behave. Yet every Tom, dick and Harry thinks that they have got some divine rights to tell the Muslims what to do or not to do! Why is it so? May I ask?
Is it because Islam and Arab bashing is the most popular sport in the town?
People who seek moral guidance from the toilet blocks of suburbia scream about the burkah and become self appointed saviors of Muslim women! Isn’t it funny and peculiar?
